Alan Leibman

Alan Leibman is a sought-after advisor to high-profile CEOs, business owners and leaders in the fields of hospitality, tourism, high-end luxury, and real estate. His formidable track record spans 30 years in the luxury hospitality industry. Alan started out as the youngest ever General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton and rose through the ranks to the position of CEO of Kerzner International.

He made his mark at Kerzner, showing his true leadership and negotiation skills to stabilize the company after the 2008 financial market crash. Since leaving Kerzner International in 2016, Alan Leibman engages as a Consultant and Advisor to C-Suite leaders and has taken on various consulting roles spanning five continents. Simultaneously, Alan Leibman has personally established and curated bespoke business for his family office in Europe and the USA.

He has extensive experience in operations, destination marketing and building iconic
brands and has held key positions on a variety of boards. He is an astute leader who has developed some of the world’s most iconic hospitality and entertainment destination brands. He believes in working with the best of the best to create unassailable experiences for a discerning audience.

Phil Nisbet

After an early career in investment banking with Citibank, Merrill Lynch, and Barclays Bank, Phil Nisbet has become a dynamic entrepreneur across the diverse worlds of community banking, insurance and hospitality.

He co-founded World Insurance Associates, which has grown to become the 28th largest insurance broker in the country with $700M in revenues. Phil also co-founded Prospect Capital Restaurants, a franchisee of 68 Jersey Mike’s Subs and Wingstop restaurants across the US. In addition to his role as co-CEO of LPHI, he is also developing 70 drive-thru 7 Brew coffee franchises in the Washington, D.C. area. He holds a BSBA from Georgetown University and an MBA from Duke University.

Scott Troeller

Scott Troeller is a board member of K9 Resorts and works actively with the management team as a special advisor on high impact company projects

Scott is a private equity executive and entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience acquiring, building, and transforming businesses into industry leaders well positioned for either public or private expansion. He has completed over 100 acquisitions, divestitures and financing transactions across multiple middle market industries in excess of $10 billion of value. A past chairman and/or board member of over 20 private and public companies, Mr. Troeller is adept at working with management teams and their investors to drive strategy, growth and successful business outcomes.

Scott holds a BA from Rutgers College and enjoys golfing, boating, fishing, skiing, and staying physically fit with his wife, five children and their pack of rescue hounds (two basset hounds and one bloodhound).

Ken Edwards

Regional Director

Ken joined K9 Resorts in 2024 and serves as Regional Director for the West region, responsible for overseeing the development and opening of new resorts, managing resort operations, and providing ongoing support to franchise owners. With over 20 years of leadership experience, Ken brings expertise in operations, sales, franchising, and strategic growth across multiple regions. Prior to joining K9 Resorts, Ken held leadership roles within AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sport Clips. His background includes scaling operations, optimizing performance, and fostering sustainable growth, focusing on success through collaboration and guidance.

Mike Brugman

Regional Director

Mike joined K9 Resorts in 2024 and serves as the Regional Director for the central region. Mike is responsible for upholding brand standards as well as supporting the franchisees in his region. Mike comes to K9 Resorts with over 24 years of operational and marketing experience with Franchise owned locations including Marble Slab Creamery, Great American Cookies, and Pretzelmaker. Most recently, Mike spent nine years with Sport Clips where he supported 160 stores. Mike is a former collegiate athlete and still enjoys running and playing soccer when not attending sporting events for his children.

Jamie Johnson

Regional Director

James (Jamie) Johnson joined K9 in 2024 and serves as Regional Director for the Eastern region. Jamie brings over 20 years of franchisee and franchisor experience. Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge in operations focusing on development, efficiency, and organizational structures that deliver high financial results. Jamie uniquely is a franchisee of a food service brand along with working for K9. His knowledge of the Franchisee/Franchisor relationship positions him to work closely with the franchisee out in the field. Jamie has also held positions as a Sr. Regional Director, Vice President of Operations, and COO of his franchise group.

Steve Beagelman

Steve joined the Board of Directors in 2016. Steve is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SMB Franchise Advisors, a franchise consulting company. Since 2009, SMB Franchise Advisors has assisted over 500 companies develop and launch their franchise model. With over 30 years of franchise experience, Steve held senior-level executive positions at Hollywood Tans, Saladworks, and Rita’s Italian Ice. He is a regular guest speaker at franchise conferences and an author for franchise industry publications. Additionally, Steve earned his Certified Franchise Executive designation from the International Franchise Association.

Scott Schubiger

Chief Growth Officer

Scott Schubiger is a seasoned senior executive and board member with 30 years of experience across franchising, technology, and real estate. Known as a transformative leader, he has consistently delivered strong EBITDA growth for companies at various stages, from startups to mid-cap organizations. His expertise spans franchise leadership, private equity, global business development, M&A, and operational execution. Currently serving as Chief Growth Officer at K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotels, Scott previously led The Picklr to rapid expansion, signing over 500 territories in under two years. He has held key leadership roles at firms like NRD Capital, Massage Heights, Cisco Systems, and Realogy, where he successfully expanded global franchise footprints. Scott holds advanced degrees in technology management and sports psychology, serves on nonprofit boards, and is a dedicated family man based in Morristown, NJ.

Dan Wheeler

Chief Marketing Officer

Dan Wheeler joined K9 Resorts as Chief Marketing Officer in 2024 and is responsible for developing and elevating the company’s brand strategy and revenue trajectory. With a deep background in marketing, guest experience, and innovation, Dan has helped build and scale successful brands across multiple industries. In the restaurant category, he has led brand management, digital transformation, advertising, field marketing, public relations, strategy, and concept innovation for Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins, Wahlburgers, and Uncle Julio’s. As managing partner for OH-based WorkPlace Media and SVP/Group Account Director at global marketing agency RAPP Worldwide, he served a roster of clients across retail, hospitality, consumer electronics, and other industries. Dan is a Club CMO member, sits on the advisory board at InnoLead, and spends his free time cooking, exercising, and enjoying just about anything outdoors with his wife, 4 children, and devoted rescue pups Rosco and Pepper.

Tony Ozelis

Real Estate Director

Tony is a seasoned Real Estate Director with extensive experience in the fast-paced retail and food service industries. With a proven track record of success, he has held key positions at renowned brands including Pizza Hut, Wendy’s International, and Little Caesars Pizza.

As the National Director of Real Estate for Best Friends Pet Care, Tony played a pivotal role in that company’s inception, helping to shape its real estate strategy and expansion efforts through ground-up prototype developments as well as several successful multi-unit acquisitions. His expertise also includes spearheading the development of the first 7-Eleven locations in Manhattan, NY, showcasing his ability to navigate complex urban markets and drive growth in competitive environments.

Known for his strategic vision and collaborative approach, Tony is dedicated to optimizing real estate portfolios and enhancing operational efficiencies. He continues to leverage his extensive industry knowledge to identify innovative opportunities that align with organizational goals.

Victoria DeVito

Executive Assistant

Victoria A. DeVito joined K9 Resorts in 2024 as an Executive Assistant to the founders, Steven Parker and Jason Parker.  Victoria has an Associate Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from St. John’s University. In the past 25 years Victoria has worked as a Paralegal, an Executive Assistant and a licensed N.Y. State Real Estate Agent. Working for many former influential employers with high net-worth and a global presence, have given Victoria a variety of experiences. Past employers whose reputation and products are world renowned, have exposed her to many high-profile, public, confidential and sensitive matters. Victoria brings this knowledge and confidential business understanding to her employers at K9 Resorts.

Victoria Lukacs

Victoria Lukacs

In-House Counselor

Victoria Lukacs, Esq. joined K9 Resorts in 2023 as the In-House Counselor. Victoria has over 5 years’ experience in Business and Commercial Law and has worked in both the private and public sector. As the in-house attorney, Victoria drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts, provides support to both the Corporate and Franchise Divisions of the company, and mitigates risk through best practices. And she has two beautiful, happy puppies named Nymeria and Mango.

Allyson Bentley

Marketing Manager

Allyson Bentley joined K9 Resorts in 2023 and serves as a Marketing Manager. Allyson comes to K9 Resorts with over 13+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, UX, and digital strategy within both the higher education and consumer goods space. She has worked for a variety of brands from Black and Decker to Georgetown University. She is also an entrepreneur having successfully launched and sold two digital brands. She loves dogs, especially her own fur baby, Lady Penelope Bentley, a Staffordshire Terrier, rescued from Puerto Rico.

Alyssa Wang

Staff Accountant

Alyssa comes to K9 Resorts with ten years of finance and accounting experience. Besides assisting growing companies with handling their financial records, she also spent five years in public education. Alyssa is responsible for making sure the accuracy of financial records is recorded properly and withheld. In past positions, she has been responsible for compiling data-driven reports in order to assist the team in making their decisions and strategic recommendations.

Andrew Taylor

Director of Corporate Operations

Andrew joined K9 Resorts in 2022 and serves as Director of Corporate Operations. Andrew is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating all company-owned locations, focusing on implementing policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations throughout the entire K9 Resorts system – company-owned and franchisee-owned. Andrew came to K9 Resorts with over 8 years of Director experience from a different franchise organization. In 2021, Andrew was recognized by Convenience Store Magazine as one of the top 40 Under 40 leaders in the industry.

Brenden Ryan

Marketing Associate

Brenden Ryan Joined K9 Resorts in 2022 and serves as a Marketing Associate. He is a professional graphic designer with extensive knowledge in the Illustration field with experience in areas such as sign and logo design/fabrication. Brenden is responsible for designing digital and print advertisements, flyers, brochures, etc, and will assist franchise owners with marketing collateral requests, which will ensure brand consistency throughout the United States.

Stacey Wells

Operations Manager

Stacey came to K9 Resorts with over 10 years of experience within the childcare franchise industry and joins us as an Operations Manager. Throughout her career, Stacey assisted new franchisees with opening locations, hiring and training staff, and maintaining brand compliance while also serving as the day-to-day Director.

Vincent Corso

Vice President of Finance

Vincent Corso joined K9 Resorts in the beginning of 2022 and serves as Vice President of Finance. Vincent comes to K9 Resorts with over 20 years of well-rounded experience in finance and accounting in established companies, franchises, and start-ups. His broad experience includes evaluating and supporting franchise business models, in-home services, hotel management, construction management, and property management sectors, as well as emerging technologies in mobile advertising and television. Vincent is responsible for operational and financial leadership, including accurately reporting K9 Resorts financial results. Prior to K9 Resorts, Vincent was the Vice President-Corporate Controller of a leading Hotel Management Company and previously held senior finance positions with Visible World (now Comcast) and Kiswe Mobile.

Mike Baker

Operations Manager

Mike joined K9 Resorts in 2021 and serves as Operations Manager where he is responsible for the development and opening of new resorts, resort management, and supporting franchisees. Mike came to K9 Resorts with over 12 years of retail operations management experience from highly reputable brands such as Target, The Vitamin Shoppe, and Harbor Freight. Throughout his career, Mike was a multi-unit leader responsible for every aspect of the business, led projects such as Brand Defining remodels and new store openings, and led winning teams for some of the highest volume stores in these brands.

Jessica Reitemeyer

Operations Manager

Jessica has been a member of the K9 Resorts team since inception in 2005. She serves as Operations Manager where she is responsible for resort management, franchisee training, and the development and opening of new resorts. As an original member of the K9 Resorts team, Jessica has years of experience in every position at the resort-level. Jessica has played a key role in the development of systems and processes at K9 Resorts.

Tom Giaimo

Senior Accountant

Tom Giaimo joined K9 Resorts in 2023 and serves as the Senior Accountant. Tom comes to K9 Resorts with 3 years of public accounting at EisnerAmper and 2 years of private accounting at Summit Health. Tom works very closely with Vincent Corso, VP of Finance, and is responsible for supporting Vincent in operational and financial management, tax strategies and effective use of resources, including accurately reporting K9 Resorts financial results.

Greg Smith

Chief Operations Officer

Greg recently joined K9 Resorts in October 2023 and serves as Chief Development Officer. Greg is responsible for the smart, strategic growth of K9 resorts across the country. Greg comes to K9 Resorts with over 20 years of retail real estate experience with both Company and Franchise owned locations. Greg began his retail real estate career with Sally Beauty company in 2001 after a brief career as a fully licensed financial planner. For the past 20 years Greg was with Sport Clips, Inc. where he worked his way from Director of Real Estate up to Chief Development Officer. During his tenure with Sport Clips, the brand developed over 1,800 locations with a store count growing from 100 locations to just shy of 1,900 in the U.S. and Canada. Greg was responsible for a number of key responsibilities (at different times) which included real estate, construction, franchise sales, compliance, administration, facility maintenance, budgeting and strategic planning.

John Miller

Chief Financial Officer

John joined K9 Resorts in 2023 and serves as its Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, John is responsible for accounting, finance, tax and treasury. John has over 25 years of experience in support of growth stage companies. He has worked to develop and manage processes and systems that scale and evolve with the needs of the business. Utilizing his capital markets experience he has worked with private equity and investment and commercial banks to finance and achieve growth. Prior to K9 Resorts, John was the CFO of Do Good Foods, a start-up company, focusing on sustainability projects and previously held senior finance positions with Viking Pest Control (an Anticimex owned company), Digital Realty Trust and the Telx Group.

Zach Gould

Vice President of Corporate Operations

Zach Gould joined K9 Resorts in 2021 and serves as Vice President of Corporate Operations. Zach has over 5 years of dedicated experience in the pet care industry and a track record of more than 9 years in operations management. With multi-unit operations experience spanning across the East Coast, Zach’s responsibilities have encompassed operational excellence, employee recruitment and training, strategic planning, and driving profitable growth. As a member of the Board of Advisors for the International Boarding and Pet Services Association (IBPSA), Zach is committed to elevating industry standards. At K9 Resorts, he plays a central role in overseeing all company-owned locations, driving expansion, development, and acquisition efforts, and collaborating closely with Co-founder Steven Parker on research and development to pioneer innovative solutions across the brand.

Jason Parker

Jason co-founded K9 Resorts in 2005 and serves as Chief Executive Officer of K9 Franchising, LLC as well as Chairman of the Board of K9 Holdings, LLC. Jason oversees franchise development and operations. At K9 Resorts, Jason has played a pivotal role in the development of the business model, long-term financial management strategies, human resources, marketing, and promotional strategies. Jason is also a nationally-renowned speaker, considered an expert in the pet care industry, and was recognized by Congress for outstanding and invaluable service to the community.

Bill Stewart

Bill invested in K9 Resorts in 2016 and serves as a board director. Bill joined Navigator Partners in 2006 and serves as Managing Partner. Bill has also invested in Crestcom International, a global franchisor of management and leadership training. Prior to Navigator Partners, he was the Managing Director at Nassau Capital, an alternative asset manager for Princeton University’s endowment. In addition to K9 Resorts, Bill serves on the board for FirstLight Home Care.

Bernard Markey

Bernard Markey

Bernard invested in K9 Resorts in 2016 and serves as a board director. Bernard co-founded Navigator Partners in 1999 and serves as Managing Partner. Navigator Partners is a private equity investment group with a focus on franchisors. Bernard has invested in leading franchisors, including FirstLight Home Care, Smashburger, and Comfort Keepers. The principals at Navigator Partners have completed over 50 private equity investments and bring over 100 years of combined experience in private equity, strategic investments, and operations. In addition to K9 Resorts, Bernard serves on the board for FirstLight Home Care.

Steven Parker

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate
and Joint Venture Resort Operations Board Member

Steven Parker co-founded K9 Resorts in 2005 and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Corporate and Joint Venture Resort Operations. Steven oversees corporate resort development, corporate resort operations, and operating standards across the franchise system. He regularly speaks at national conferences and universities on the topics of business, pet care, and entrepreneurship. Steven has earned recognition from the Mayor of Fanwood, the New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association, and the United States Congress for his charitable contributions.

Kevin Tennant

Vice President of Franchise Operations

Kevin joined K9 Resorts in 2019 and serves as Vice President of Franchise Operations. Kevin is responsible for assisting franchisees from signing day through grand opening. Kevin came to K9 Resorts with more than 30 years of retail operations experience. Throughout his career, Kevin held a variety of positions at major brands, including The Disney Store, Vice President of Stores and Operations at Nautica, Senior Director of Store Operations at Tommy Hilfiger, and Vice President of Operations at Rook Coffee. In these positions, Kevin oversaw operations, employee training, and strategic planning.

Brian Carlisle

Director of Real Estate

Brian joined K9 Resorts in 2020 and serves as Director of Real Estate. Most recently, Brian worked at Simply Greek, a Mediterranean restaurant franchisor, as Director of Real Estate and Construction from 2016 to 2018 and President from 2018 to 2019. At Simply Greek, he helped build the brand from zero locations to 36 locations in 30 months. Prior to Simply Greek, Brian worked at Rita’s Italian Ice for 17 years in a variety of positions, including Business Consultant, Director of Operations, Director of Construction, and Vice President of Development. Brian helped Rita’s Italian Ice grow to over 300 units domestically and internationally.

Chris Nielsen

Operations Manager

Chris has been a member of the K9 Resorts team since inception in 2005. He serves as Operations Manager where he specializes in inventory management, franchisee training, and facility management. In 2005, Chris supported the operations of K9 Resort’s first resort in Fanwood, NJ.

Cathi Overend

Special Operations Manager

Cathi joined K9 Resorts in 2022 as Special Operations Manager. Cathi is a certified professional dog trainer, a highly trained animal disaster responder, and has more than seven years in the pet care industry. Her business background is in the field of banking – specifically mortgages. Cathi competes in and judges several dog sports and she’s a long-time rescue volunteer. Her primary duty at K9 Resorts is to provide management support at our company-owned resorts, as needed. She’ll also be involved in procedural review and training and certifying resort team members throughout the entire K9 Resorts system – company-owned and franchisee-owned.
